| Real wood flooring | Available in a range of different finishes, this material comes in 4cm widths with varying lengths. Most are softwood and care needs to be taken when placing furniture on and other heavy or sharp objects. The timber is aprox 1cm in height so consideration needs to be taken in to account on the floor and joining floors when making a decision. In most cases this is installed as a floating floor, as the moisture difference in this country between summer and winter can cause sizable expansion of the floor. Unlike laminate flooring this is real wood and as no two trees are the same variations in the colour and effect can and do change in each piece. This creates a very natural look. The real wood flooring we supply is imported from Canada as is of the VERY best quality it comes in Red Oak, Canadian birch and Canadian Maple. | ||

| Laminate flooring |
Laminate flooring has become ever more popular over the last 3 years and is still growing, one of the reasons
for this has to be attributed to the DIY supermarkets selling it for less and less. Initially this would seem to
be a good thing however as with most things when the price drops so can the quality. At EPS we give a lifetime
guarantee for faults against faulty workmanship and we want your product to give you value for money as well.
We have tested almost all the laminates available and can still source quality products for little more than
you would pay elseware. Laminate floor is made from either MDF (medium density fibre board), or is now more HDF (high density fibre board), with a design and colour finish applied, then finally a number of layers of lacquer giving it's protective coating. The number of layers of this lacquer varies between brands, but also between what application the product is designed for. There are two main finish designs on laminate flooring plank and strip, these reflect what type wood effect the laminate is re-creating. Plank creates a cleaner look and is less obtrusive, where strip is more detailed and is designed to look like real wood flooring. | ||
